Two einaidea projects, finalists in the ACCA Awards

Two einaidea projects are finalists in the Catalan Association of Art Critics (ACCA) Awards: Aurèlia Muñoz. Aerial atelier in the category of 'Historical Art Curatorship' and Ambushes in the category of 'Artistic Projects and Initiatives'. The awards ceremony will take place on 20 March at the MACBA's Meier Auditorium.

Aurèlia Muñoz. Aerial atelier is based on works by Aurèlia Muñoz from the tapestry and textile art collection of Sant Cugat City Council, as well as a selection of elements from the artist's personal archive, and is conceived as a space in constant activation and redefinition rather than a regular exhibition. In close dialogue and complicity with the Aurèlia Muñoz Archive, the exhibition presents a selection of works as vectors of a practice that overflows the textile sphere in multiple directions, from animist ontology and the ecological crisis to the new materialisms that coincide with the resurgence of crafts in the post-digital era. Aurèlia Muñoz. Aerial atelier opened on 11 March 2023 at the Centre Grau-Garriga d'Art Tèxtil Contemporani in Sant Cugat del Vallès, and has included the work and interventions of artists and researchers such as Francesca Piñol, the Tornen les esquelles collective (Martina Manyà and Ana Vivero), Mateo López, Ana Ramo and Silvia Ventosa Muñoz. To mark the conclusion of the exhibition, on 15 February einaidea presented the book that brings together the processes, talks, research, relationships and intuitions that the work on the artist's oeuvre has given rise to, bringing together process materials, images, writings, elements and unpublished documents. Ambushes is a programme led by einaidea in dialogue with the artist Jordi Colomer, which began in early 2021 with the construction process of Eina Bosc. It has involved artists, designers and architects linked to the creative community of Barcelona who have set in motion a radically contextual and conceptually open reflection, aimed at revealing the potential of the site, as well as its archaeology. Thus, the project has given rise to artistic, speculative and performative interventions, explorations and workshops in situ that seek to emerge not only the potential of the new building and its workshops, but also its different layers of material and immaterial memory. So far, the Ambushes have featured interventions by Sergi Aguilar, Marc Vives, Julia Spínola, Sociedad 0, Pep Vidal, MAIO Architects, Rosa Tharrats, Francesc Ruiz, Jorge Satorre and Pauline Fondevila.
