The EINA Library has a support role for the teaching, research and the cultural activities of the education community. Thanks to its collection specialized in contemporary art and design and its management, the EINA Library has become a benchmark centre for scholars and researchers in these subject areas.
Access to the library is free for EINA students and faculty, as well as to alumni and all members of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. A consultation service in the library for anyone else interested may be authorised if first requested.
Opening hours
- UNTIL NEW NOTICE: Monday and Thursday from 8am at 4.30pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 3.30pm
- Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4.30pm and Friday, 8am to 3pm.
- July and first half of September, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm, and Friday, 8am to 3pm (closed in Christmas time, Holy Week and August).
The bibliographic collection is over 7,000 volumes and can be searched online through the UAB Library Search tool. It is organised into thematic sections in logical correspondence with the specialities and interests of the studies taught at the centre: graphic design and visual communication, industrial product design, interior design and architecture, design culture, art, photography, social sciences and humanities. The periodicals archive consists of over sixty subscriptions to current periodical publications of national and international scope, that bring the user closer to the immediate current and trend topics in design and art.
The zines archive is made up of fifty fanzines, photozines and other small publications of art and illustration self-published, a source of inspiration for creativity.
The audiovisual collection includes over 300 titles of movies and documentaries of academic interest.
