Doctoral students linked to Eina are co-directed by a lecturer from Eina and a lecturer from various UAB degrees, and can participate in different seminars on design, philosophy, aesthetics and theory of the arts promoted by Eina.
Especially designed to provide support to monitoring doctoral theses under way, the seminar GEARAD - Aesthetics Applied to Art and Design Research Group acts as a methodological, procedural and contents-based reading and discussion group. Besides the monthly work sessions, members are encouraged to take part in research activities such as publications, conferences, seminars, etc. to train themselves in developing the usual academic formats.
Eina has been the first university centre of Design and Art in Spain to develop the entire educational continuum from the Degree to the Doctorate., making it a pioneer in the country with an academic pedigree in line with global European educational centres devoted to research in art and design.
The doctoral programme boosts research in art and design with the aim of multiplying research that takes these disciplines as process generators and as tools for exploration that intersect with other areas of knowledge. This perspective contributes to providing continuity to art and design studies through the third cycle, while also creating a community of doctoral students and doctors that enriches the future perspectives of these areas of knowledge.
Eina's doctoral itinerary is linked to the SGR GRETDA – Aesthetics and Theory of Design and Arts Research Group, and its doctoral students take part in academic activities organised by the Research Projects that are part of it.
Doctoral research and teaching staff from Eina.
To anyone holding an Official Master's degree proposing a research project in design and/or art, whether it is theoretical or theoretical-practical. The project proposal must be accepted by the Doctoral Committee.
