New Eina Board

Eina, Barcelona University Centre of Design and Art, is pleased to present its new board, formed by Dr. Tània Costa, Academic Director, Dr. Sara Coscarelli, Deputy Director, and Dr. Javier Nieto Cubero, Director of Innovation and Business.

Tania Costa holds an undergraduate degree and a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, with research accreditation from the AQU. Since 2003, she has been teaching undergraduate and master's classes at Eina, where she has been the coordinator of research and the University Master's Degree in Research in Art and Design (MURAD). She is a researcher associated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), a coordinator of the consolidated SGR Research Group in Aesthetics and Theory of Design and Art (GRETDA), and a director of doctoral theses with the philosophy department at the UAB. Her academic contributions fall within artistic and design practices that promote social innovation from a contextual, participatory, and performative point of view, encompassing approaches from transitional design to applied aesthetics.

Sara Coscarelli holds a PhD in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University. With undergraduate studies in Humanities at the UAB and graduate studies in Design, with a specialisation in interior design at Eina, she works as the Director of Masters and Postgraduate Degrees and Internationalisation at Eina. She is a researcher in the history and critique of the design of spaces in the context of the crisis of the modern movement, the critique of contemporary space, and its phenomenological aesthetics. She is a researcher associated with the UAB, a member of GRETDA, and and director of doctoral theses at the Department of Philosophy of the UAB. At Eina, she teaches in the Bachelor of Design and the University Master's Degree in Design of Spaces (MUDE), of which she is the coordinator.

Javier Nieto Cubero holds a PhD in Innovation from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in the Business Organisation Programme. He is an industrial designer from the University of Valladolid/Politecnico di Milano, where he completed his Master's Degree in Transportation Design & Management. He is also a Materials Engineer from the UPC and PDD from IESE. He is a professor, researcher, and coordinator of the Product Mention at Eina and a guest professor at other national and international universities of design, architecture, and business, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He is a senior product director with more than 20 years of experience leading the strategy, design, and development of new products, services, and brands in different sectors, and is currently the co-director of the strategic design agency Ovicuo Design.
