“The project envisions an experience in which our voices and bodies become the walls, defining the spaces of the future center. In their vibrational nature, these walls are mobile and move with other vibrations that are subsequently added.” Based on this premise, formulated by the artist Marc Vives, To Move Walls brings together a group initially composed of ten people that carries out various somatic operations in rhythm with the construction and demolition of Eina Bosc. The group, made up of students Irene Alcázar, Daniel Cardona, Pepe Nerín, and Bet Pahissa, internalizes and is internalized by the place. Their performative and sculptural exploration culminates in something akin to the script of a ceremony or a liturgy without worship, presented to the public in September 2021. The work consists of causing the building to resonate like a large musical instrument, through any imaginable means or tool. The participants must avoid verbal communication. At one point, a plaster wall, still damp and unstable, is carried by several people and placed against the stone wall of the courtyard. The object remained there for nearly a year, slowly crumbling until its disappearance.
