Èlia Bagò and Sara Torres, from the Sociedad 0 collective, reflect on group living-working and food management, exploring the possible configurations of a canteen, pantry, kitchen, or communal dining room. They involve students from the course Workspace Design, taught by Professor Tomás López Amat, with the collaboration of artist Antoni Miralda, who visits the site at a certain point. The process culminates in the permanent installation of modular furniture in the Bosc courtyard, based on the initial premise that “function cancels possibility”: a set of fiberglass volumes that, when joined, form something resembling a tangram, thus revisiting one of the recurring forms in the work of Isamu Noguchi, which in this case is resized and reinterpreted. This multifaceted object suggests a back-and-forth between work and rest, tool and furniture, sharing and eating. Since its creation, it has served daily as a space for meetings, conversations, naps, poetry readings, or DJ sets, to name just a few of its uses.
