Interaction with the user is key to questioning the conventional values of the design of spaces and to creating environments with content that generates a specific stance in the user with regard to the experience they have had. With this aim, the Master in Design of Spaces provides the most advanced conceptual, technical and creative tools for the development of critical thinking, such as emotion and perception in space, Design Thinking applied to space and techniques such as sustainability, accessibility and lighting of spaces.
The Official EHEA Master's Degree: University Master's Degree in Space Design (MUDE) features the collaboration of the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.

Aims
The Official Master in Design of Spaces is to train professionals in the specific field of the design of spaces and to adapt technical and creative knowledge to the various spheres of action: commercial, residential, work and pop-up spaces, stage design, or new space concepts.
It seeks to professionalise an activity that is strongly linked to other disciplines and lacking rigorous training in our geographical area, as well as to complete the education of the profiles of designer, architect and technical architect.
It is essential that students learn to give value to new technologies in the conditioning of the physical space, besides assimilating the emerging social and cultural critical values that are found in the bases of the implementation criteria, using the disciplines that articulate them: ergonomics, ecology, economics, sociology and anthropology and their impacts and repercussions on planning.
*This qualification does not qualify for the approval of projects.
Programme
You can download the teaching guides of the subjects in the following section "Teaching guides and Memory".
First semester
Subject 1 - Ephemeral Space Project.
In this subject we will learn the different typologies of ephemeral spaces that exist: cultural, exhibition, scenic, temporary, through resources by applying new technologies. We will review the understanding of corporate image and the use of communication tools to know how to transmit the project, as well as the importance of lighting in exhibition spaces.
Subject 2 - Domestic Space Project
You will develop an executive project for a domestic space in a specific context and with a specific programme and users.
Subject 3 - Visual communication of space
In this subject you will acquire the advanced graphic and visual communication techniques and tools that can be used in the design of spaces to communicate the identity of the space.
Subject 4 - Project Narrative
We will analyse the particular concepts to interpret the design processes involved in the development of a space design project; as well as basic aspects of the master's degree: the analysis of the area and sector of action, the study of the pre-existence and locations and the configuration of the needs of the users and their link with the activity programmes.
Subject 5 - Space conditioning
We will learn how to restore and rehabilitate, as well as how to carry out thermal and acoustic conditioning based on energy saving and efficiency. Fundamentals of light and its repercussions in its application in space. Techniques and methods of calculation and graphic representation.
Second semester
Subject 1 - Commercial Space Project
Project workshop focused on the configuration of the project for the development of the corporate image and design of a commercial space for restaurants, hotels or shops, applied to the pre-existing space and the proposed use.
Subject 2 - Workspace Project
Creation of a project proposal for a space for work, health and/or well-being, according to the existing social context and the requirements of the programme and users.
Subject 3 - The design of spaces in the world
We will review the models and influences in the history of the design of spaces, as well as the critical analysis of the typologies followed in the design of space projects, the history and development of trends and the historical evolution of representation.
Subject 4 - Project Management
We will learn about the necessary project documentation. The methodology of management with the administrations and compliance with technical compliance with technical regulations: acoustics, occupational safety and health, as well as economic planning and tools for calculating budgets.
The project will be the preparation of all the necessary procedures for the site management of a space.
Subject 5- Master's Final Project
This consists of a research project with an original approach, directed by one of the lecturers on the programme, which must consist of a design project and/or a report, and which may be both speculative and formal, and must be considered, in any case, a contribution to the knowledge of its subject.
