EINA is part of Magnet, the programme that involves educational centres and institutions of reference in innovative and quality educational projects to achieve educational equity, and which is promoted by the Fundació Bofill, the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Consorci d'Educació de Barcelona and the Institut de Ciències l'Educació of the UAB.
Since 2021, the team formed by Laia Clos, Anna Majó and Enric Mas, teachers of the Bachelor of Design, have been collaborating with Institut La Serreta in Rubí through design, art and research. These learning axes allow to promote creativity, analytical skills, knowledge of the environment, attitude towards knowledge and new ways of looking at things among the students of the institute.
The alliance between INS La Serreta and EINA, which will last until 2025, provides a way of conceiving the pedagogy of design and art as a programme and, above all, as a way of being, as an attitude towards life and society.
The Magnet programme, inspired by the Magnet Schools in the United States, is aimed at schools that have an unbalanced social composition with respect to their territory of reference, and that have a teaching team committed to change and motivated to develop innovative projects.
The way in which Magnet faces the challenge of achieving educational equity is by allying educational centres with reference institutions in a specific field of knowledge, which, in turn, have an educational commitment to society and the capacity to transfer innovation and knowledge.
It is in this context that EINA, through design, art and research, is contributing to the improvement of the quality of public education in Catalonia.
