Eina and Breinco Collaborate to Innovate in Urban Furniture

Eina and Breinco, a company specialised in urban development solutions, have launched an academic collaboration for the 2025–2026 academic year with the aim of developing new proposals that integrate outdoor paving and urban furniture. The project will take place during the second semester, from February to June 2026, within the framework of the Project 4 module of the Bachelor’s Degree in Design. 

The initiative will involve second-year Product Design students under the coordination of Professor Javier Nieto Cubero, with the occasional support of Professor Jordi Pla and the participation of other industry professionals. The proposal adopts an experimental and disruptive approach, encouraging students to explore new typologies and concepts by applying creativity to the company’s material resources and manufacturing processes. 

The schedule includes a visit to Breinco’s facilities in Llinars del Vallès on 16 February 2026, where students will gain first-hand insight into the company’s products, materials and production processes. This immersion in a professional environment is intended to foster a practical understanding of the technical, functional and environmental constraints involved in product development. 

The project will combine research, site analysis, conceptualisation, formal development, narrative construction and prototyping. Ideation workshops, inspiration sessions and review meetings with the Breinco team will also be organised, providing direct feedback on the students’ proposals. 

The final presentation of the projects will take place in April at the company’s facilities, in an event designed to share the outcomes of the process with the academic and professional community.
