The ARDES ERASMUS+ Project will develop and validate a Short Learning Programme (SLP) in Art, Design and Sustainability for higher education.
This 2-year project, 2022-2024, has been established through a strategic partnership between 5 European partners: MyDocumenta (Coordinator, Spain), the European University of Cyprus, Universidade Aberta (Portugal), EINA (Spain) and the associated partner LABA Valencia (Spain), with the aim of providing open educational resources by integrating knowledge and values associated with sustainability and climate change through art and design activities and techniques.
The project has made significant progress: the development of teaching and learning materials for the 4-module course has been finalised and the pilot phase has started in the 3 partner universities with the participation of about 100 students (Bachelor, Master and PhD) and 10 teachers.
The pilot phase has started at EINA on 18 September and will end on 28 November. Module 1 of the ARDES course is being tested together with students of the Bachelor of Design. And with students of the University Master’s Degree in Research of Art and Design (MURAD) the test of Module 3 is being carried out. Module 1 is introductory to the relationship between sustainability, art and design and works on behaviour and concepts through photographs and dissemination materials. Module 3 is very practical and aims to mobilise citizens in relation to sustainability issues by designing participatory actions and mediating art.
