Martí Crisol has received a special mention at the Catalonia Ecodesign Awards 2025 for his Final Degree Project in Design Tamariua: morts de fondeig ecològics, a proposal that reduces the environmental impact of boats on the seabed.
The project presented an innovative and environmentally friendly alternative for mooring boats in bathing or natural areas, aiming to prevent the degradation of Posidonia oceanica and other marine habitats while promoting more responsible recreational boating practices.
The reason for the award
The Tamariua system consists of a modular anchoring system for boats and buoys, designed from an existing market product to encourage habitat creation and promote marine biodiversity. It is made from self-compacting concrete enriched with foundry slag and bivalve shells, which facilitate the attachment of marine organisms. The modularity of the system allows for adaptation and installation according to specific needs.
The award ceremony took place on October 16 at Palau Robert in Barcelona, where all the awards were presented and the itinerant exhibition of finalist and winning projects was inaugurated.
This sixth edition of the Award reached a record number of applications, with a total of 132 projects submitted. Of these, the jury selected 34, from which three projects (one per category) were awarded and nine received special mentions.
