What if it were impossible to draw? And if you pick up pencil and paper in a completely comfortable situation and, even with that, it was impossible to draw? Other questions:
What is a good drawing? One that reproduces reality? One that doesn't go outside the lines? Is art defined by the consumer? Is artistic evaluation in the hands of the observer?
All of these questions and more are the ones posed in the project “How I wanted to draw and I couldn't”, where the aim sought is to discover the parameters of art and the knowledge needed to be able to create work without the need for external parameters.
Starting with personal research and going through research in art history, a series of situations and circumstances is proposed where questions and answers, comparisons, hypotheses and theories are developed in such diverse fields as history, anthropology and philosophy.
That all art has its moment and that there is an objective way of viewing works from an academic point of view are discoveries that are carried out in this project to understand and show that any object can be art providing the circumstances surrounding it are ideal.
