This work arises from my experience photographing scenes of rave culture. I analyze the functioning of this culture as a community that provides refuge to those who move away from the “society of the spectacle,” as Guy Debord once described it. I present the concept of continuum as a series of situations of collective dissociation that, through techno, dance and drugs, foster improvisation and genuine intentions. My desire to freeze the essence of these moments raises a series of ethical dilemmas that are exposed throughout the work. Using pixelation as a form of censorship, I question my position on photographic practice.
