Study Plan: Craft Editing and Production
Forms of Craft (blended learning, 24 hours)
This module combines observation, repetition and reinterpretation of traditional archetypes with digital tools, enabling experimentation with processes and forms within a hybrid environment. Students develop their own archetypes, document the process and participate in collective critique sessions. On-site workshop hours complement practice by materialising textures, proportions and tangible objects. The module presents contemporary crafts as a flexible, innovative and creative field integrating tradition, process and experimentation.
Craft and Materials (blended learning, 24 hours)
This module combines experimentation and reflection on traditional and emerging materials, with process documentation carried out remotely. It includes on-site workshop hours to materialise prototypes and explore techniques in a tangible manner. Final projects integrate observation, practice and critical reflection, deepening understanding of the language of materials and their contemporary applications.
Self-Publishing (on-site, 64 hours)
This module guides students from concept to final piece, combining conceptualisation, experimentation and manual production. Students produce unique pieces, limited series or collections, benefiting from individual supervision and immediate feedback. It is a fully on-site module. Workshops allow for hands-on engagement with diverse materials and techniques, documentation of the process and consolidation of creative autonomy, linking craft tradition with innovation.
Living Crafts (on-site, 16 hours)
A 16-hour on-site module offering direct experiences in workshops and manufacturing contexts of local craftspeople and established brands. Students observe and analyse creative processes, materials and techniques, documenting them through sketches, photographs and notes. The module encourages critical reflection on tradition, innovation and the transmission of know-how, connecting these insights with students’ own projects and providing an in-depth understanding of contemporary crafts.
