David Rueda Cardelús and Martí Serra Arxer, alumni of the Bachelor in Design, have been selected as finalists in the 9th edition of the gaudeamusPROJECTA awards, organised by the Official College of Graphic Design of Catalonia. The awards recognise excellence in final-year graphic design projects from across Spain.
David Rueda Cardelús, URNA
URNA is an application designed to question the distance between citizens and today’s democratic processes. Developed by David Rueda Cardelús, the project proposes a digital tool based on direct, horizontal and transparent democracy, enabling users to access information, assess political proposals and vote remotely. The proposal combines critical reflection with visual identity in order to encourage more active and collective participation in decision-making.
Martí Serra Arxer, nemusys.exe
nemusys.exe is a project by Martí Serra Arxer that transforms real environmental data collected in Collserola and Montseny into a particle-based generative visualisation. Through the movement and visual behaviour of the system, the piece makes air quality perceptible in an intuitive and immersive way: when the air is clean, the flow appears smooth and stable; when pollution increases, the system becomes tense and irregular. The project invites reflection on human impact within seemingly protected natural environments.
The gaudeamusPROJECTA awards have become one of the leading platforms for showcasing emerging talent in the fields of graphic design and visual communication. The selection highlights the quality and innovation of the projects developed by students during the final stage of their studies.
The public presentation of the selected projects and the awards ceremony will take place on 19 June at Palau Robert in Barcelona.
