The Anònima building is a late 19th century factory complex located in the Old Quarter of Manresa. Originally, it provided electricity for the city's street lighting, but the building has no specific use today.
There is also growing concern about the lack of economic and social activity in the historic city centre. These facts generate an ageing of the streets and buildings, and do not promote an emotional link between the neighbourhood and the inhabitants. This is why it has been found necessary to intervene in this space.
Thus, the Anònima aims to be a hybrid space in the form of a market, where the exchange of local produce from Bages takes place and at the same time a meeting place for the residents of Manresa is developed.
Due to the characteristics of the building, the proposal was designed to be central, in such a way that the existing characteristic elements can be respected. The idea is to create a central body grouping all the stops, which will follow polygonal shapes that oppose the orthogonality of the space. This gesture will provide dynamism, as well as creating a good flow of circulations and sub-spaces to encourage relations between the users themselves.
