dinou, the process of mourning

dinou is an itinerant light installation that traces, in creating a path, the process of mourning.

The path is divided into five stages, following the theory of five stages of grief developed by psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.

The project wishes to portray the different states and feelings that a grieving person passes through, particularly those that are experienced differently than the established route of grief, which is an intimate process that is seldom shared or shown to others. The intentionality of creating this project as a rambling path springs from the wish to portray it as experiential, and accessible both to those who have passed through the process and those who have not.
