History course whose period of study corresponds to a key stage of Western culture: that of industrialisation and the consolidation of modernity as a model. A chronological thread will be followed that will allow us to follow the evolution of the disciplines of art design, linking them with their historical context.
Training Objectives
The fundamental objective of the subject is to achieve a knowledge of the history of design, linked to social evolution and artistic debate that allows us to understand the origin of the discipline and a series of key controversies that affect our contemporaneity.
At the end of the course the student will be able to distinguish the main styles and schools of design and art between 1815 and 1945. The ability to analyze the design or artistic products characteristic of a time that lays the foundations of our current culture, in its ideological and material dimensions is developed.
