Laia Campdelacreu Sibina has won first prize in the 25th edition of the awards organised by the Official Association of Interior Designers and Decorators of Catalonia (CoDIC) with her Final Project for the Bachelor of Desing Espace Artistique Julian, a multicultural space and artists' residence.
The project focuses on the creative and personal process of each artist and at the same time recovers the history of the building and contrasts it with the present, to create a neutral, open and adaptable space for different uses, coexisting history, architecture and art.
The jury of the 25th edition of the CoDIC awards has awarded this prize to Laia's project "for achieving a good result in a complicated container. For the great sensitivity towards the original space and a good balance of the new elements: with character, but integrated".
The jury was made up of Lídia Bronsoms Hereu, interior designer; Eduard Llop Serrat, interior designer; Antoni Llull Roca, architect; Jazmín Castresana Pedretti, journalist specialising in design; Mònica Grau Lorenz, creative director and CEO of FEDE Switch&Light since 2008.
