Exposició 100 anys de The New Yorker

Exhibition: 100 Years of The New Yorker

Teaching Staff and alumni from the Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Illustration and Visual Communication Techniques are taking part in a new group exhibition organised by El Diluvio Universal, dedicated to the centenary of The New Yorker magazine. The exhibition pays tribute to the historic publication through a reinterpretation of its first cover from 1925.

Participating artists include Teaching Staff members Gisel Fust, Gemma Terol, África Fanlo, Miquel Bustos, Caroline Selmes, Lluisot, Philip Stanton and Gusti, who exhibit their work alongside emerging creators linked to the programme. In total, 40 artists have contributed pieces to the exhibition.

The project is based on the figure of Eustace Tilley —the instantly recognisable character with a top hat and monocle featured on the original cover— and reimagines him as a range of iconic figures from contemporary culture. The result is a visual journey that brings together illustration, cultural identity and graphic memory, while preserving the ironic, elegant and critical spirit that has defined the magazine for over a century.

The opening will take place on Friday, 6 February 2026 at 6:30 pm at El Diluvio Universal (Carrer Guilleries 2), in an event open to the public that also aims to serve as a meeting point for professionals and students in the fields of illustration and visual communication.
