Students from Eina’s Bachelor’s Degree in Design have taken part in the first major artistic intervention of the future Carmen Thyssen Barcelona Museum, a collective action that transformed the seats of the former Cinema Comèdia into an ephemeral installation held on 20 November.
The event, which brought together more than 90 students from art and design schools across the city, was also attended by renowned creators such as Guillermo Lorca, Jordi Labanda, TVBoy, Javier Mariscal, Carme Ruscalleda and Pablo Erroz, who shared reflections and experiences with the students.
List of participating students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Design: Carla Barrionuevo, Lucas Camacho, Leopold Daniel, Gabriela de Jesús, Francesc Forteza, Luca Giroletti, Carla López, Inés Padilla, Ana Palacio, Inés Roquet. Tutors: Enric Mas and Mar Saiz.
The event was presided over by Carmen Thyssen and Carmen Cervera, who highlighted the importance of providing space and visibility for emerging talent, emphasising that the future museum aims to bring together established masters and new generations of creators. Both underlined their enthusiasm at seeing young people bring life to the space that will become a museum in 2028.
Among the designs produced, the Museum’s team selected one of the intervened seats to be “saved” and given to each of the participating institutions. In Eina’s case, it will be one of the seats from the Last Show project, created by Leopold Daniel.
