EDIVI 2025 Projects: Intergenerational Design

Martina Fernández, Bruna Parramon and Aina Vilardell, 3rd year students of the Bachelor of Design, will present their contemporary jewellery project Delàvia as part of the EDIVI meeting (the Network of Higher Education Design Centres for Social Innovation and Sustainability), the central theme of which will be Intergenerational Design.

At this event, which will be held on Wednesday 14 May at the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona from 4.30 to 7 p.m., the three students will discuss Delàvia, a proposal that reinterprets traditional jewellery made by grandmothers to bring it closer to new generations through contemporary design. The project highlights the value of memory, culture and generational transmission.

Delàvia's aim is to create versatile, contemporary jewellery that combines craftsmanship and innovation, and that can be worn in everyday life without losing the link with tradition and cultural heritage.

Each collection is inspired by a traditional festival of a Spanish region, highlighting the customs and symbols. The first collection takes as a reference the Day of the Faldeta in Fraga (Aragon).

Delàvia uses modern techniques such as 3D printing with resin to create light, detailed and durable pieces, while maintaining the emotional essence of the original jewellery.
