Current debate is increasingly oriented towards the need for change in educational models. Many education and learning experts seek to analyze comparatively between countries, contemplating the strong points of some and the weaknesses of others, so as to come up with a hypothesis that might help in the renewal and improvement of current educational systems. The need for this change is seen even more sharply in Spain or in those places where educational methodologies are still underdeveloped, and where use of new technologies in the classroom is still limited.
This project seeks to show the methodologies and strategies which can be used to bring about change in the current educational system, especially benefiting from the use of new technologies, which have become an indispensable everyday assistance in work and education.
The primary focus of the project is not to carry out research on educational issues, given that this type of research would be never-ending; the needs of educational systems are constantly changing. Rather, the idea is to raise the reader’s awareness so as to carry out existing theories, methodologies and strategies in practical terms, prioritizing efforts to make them happen instead of simply researching them.
For this reason, in the project we propose the example of an educational digital book for ipad and tablets. More specifically, the book would be for History and the Social Sciences. The example would have interactive content and a clear and vivid graphic presentation, appropriate for younger secondary school students.
