The following project is a primary school based on the Waldorf educational theory with room for 40-50 students aged between 0 and 6. This educational theory is based on physical, psychical and spiritual learning and is why direct contact with nature is essential. The aim is to integrate this type of school into an urban area.
The building comprises three blocks: school, administration and dining hall and toilets. The outstanding aspects of the project are the application of pastel tones characteristic of education and the use of natural materials such as pine and vegetable fibres and other materials such as concrete and glass. The functional aim is to achieve maximum flexibility of the space to carry out the various group activities. In terms of the divisions, I have played with their mobility and with transparencies to obtain as open spaces as possible that interconnect with each other.
There are five areas outside: the car park, the waiting area, the interior playground, the children's vegetable gardens and the music enclosure to foster the children's experimentation with nature, as well as a prolongation of colour on the façade that integrates the project in its setting.
