The proposal is to convert a visually unappealing museum into a unique, dynamic and exciting project that uses design to create a new identity for the Museu del Càntir (càntirs are traditional earthenware jugs used to keep drinking water cool).
The redesign encompasses all of the museums spaces and activities – the temporary and permanent exhibitions, the school and publications associated with the museum – to offer a united and attractive portfolio.
The museum is small, which allows it to excel in projects on a human scale. I have carried out historical research to reinterpret and understand the possibilities of a container that disappeared from daily use half a century ago.
