Aura is a dating app for people of all genders and sexual identities to have the opportunity to meet trans people in a safe environment for people who belong to this group. Currently, trans people suffer alarming and explicit violence within most dating apps, so it is imperative to create a space for these people to have the same opportunity to find a partner as a cisgender person. The name Aura was chosen for this app, since, according to parapsychology and many cultures, the aura is those colors that can be perceived around a person and that show characteristics of each person's personality and way of being. When generating the identity and the concept behind the entire app, I chose to use the minimum expression of the aura: the gradient. In addition, in the app, by answering a short questionnaire, the application generates your own aura which becomes your main avatar.
In fact, Aura aims to leave the physical aspect behind and make other facets, tastes or hobbies visible so that other people can get to know us. For this reason, in each profile we will first find the aura generated by the app, the person's favourite film, their four chosen songs, their favourite food, a meme that represents them and finally their photographs. Aura also applies gamified dynamics to encourage interest and connections between users. In this way, as two users talk, certain categories are unlocked, so that they can get to know each other more easily. As for the advertising campaign, it has been decided to use elements from the application itself, in order to have unlimited resources in terms of content creation. Above all, it tries to work with the idea of different profiles that users could find in the app, so that people internalise that trans people are much more than just a physical person. Other applications have also been created such as stickers, opis, and an online campaign.
