Bárbara Bayarri

Bárbara Bayarri (Barcelona, 1991) works through alter-situated epistemologies, in the encounter between philosophy, educational and artistic practices. In her projects she gives priority to the processual, seeking to activate a sensitive, incarnated and relational knowledge.

Teaching / Research

She coordinates and teaches CursO at EINA, where she has taught several modules in previous editions.

She is part of the Research Teaching Staff of the Department of Philosophy at the UAB and is a member of the teaching team in the subjects of Aesthetics, Philosophy of Art, Critical Theory, Seminar on Aesthetics and Theory of Art: Philosophy with Picasso.

She is the coordinator of PhD and Master's students of the Doctorat Picasso PhD programme, created between the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, the UAB and the UPJV (Paris).

Professional experience

She has worked in different museum and art institutions -CCCB, Centre d'Arts Santa Mónica, Fundació Josep Guinovart, Centre de les Arts Lliures-Fundació Joan Brossa, Museo Picasso Barcelona, Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofía- occupying various roles -cultural mediation, curatorship, education, exhibition coordination, documentation and research-.

She has been Head of Strategy for the Creative Europe Project: Open Up-UAB 2020-2023, where she has also curated the Open Up UAB Fest and the exhibition Practices, bodies and migrant relations. She has produced curatorial projects for the Picasso Museum and the Josep Guinovart Foundation, among other institutions.

From her training (Degree in Philosophy, Master in Cultural Management and Master in Research in Art and Design) and from these professional experiences, her doctoral thesis (FI-SDUR 2020 grant) La generación de conocimiento en los museos de arte. Epistemologías alter-situadas para la emergencia de otras prácticas y discursos a partir de Picasso, where she reviews the museum in a critical and situated way, proposing other possible ways of doing.
