Workshop Future Habitats

Future Habitats: Sensory Perception of Well-being in Space

An experimental space to rethink design through the senses. Through immersive dynamics, we will explore how light, sound, temperature, textures, and aromas can transform the experience of living.

The workshop combines theory, reference analysis, and practical exercises to imagine spatial scenarios geared toward sensory and emotional well-being. Technology, nature, and design intertwine to design environments that engage with the body and its perception.

This workshop serves as an introduction to the University Master's Degree in Design of Spaces (MUDE) and offers an initial immersion into tools and approaches that will help you incorporate sensory design into your projects.

What will you find?
Explore how well-being in the inhabited spaces of the future will be understood as a comprehensive sensory experience, beyond functionality or aesthetics.

Research and design environments that activate the senses—touch, sight, smell, temperature—to generate an emotional and physical connection between people and space.

In the near future, architecture and urban planning will integrate technology and nature to create spatial experiences that accompany the body's rhythm and promote well-being. Perception of the environment will be key to fully inhabiting it.

  • Design focused on the sensory experience.
  • Well-being as an active perception of the environment.
  • Integration of technology and natural elements.
  • Emotional connection between body and space.
  • Critical review of functional aesthetics from a sensory perspective.

Aimed at
Designers, architects, urban planners, and creative professionals interested in exploring new ways of inhabiting space based on sensitivity, innovation, and holistic well-being.

Do you want to move forward?
This workshop is an introduction to the University Master's Degree in Space Design (MUDE) and introduces you to new tools and approaches that will allow you to incorporate sensory design into your projects.

You'll learn to translate physical stimuli into spatial strategies, design experiences that emotionally respond to the body, and anticipate how we will inhabit the future from a more conscious and connected perspective. A step toward a more holistic, sensitive, and contemporary design practice.
