Manuel Cirauqui, curator, writer and Director of einaidea, has been appointed to the Committee of the 2026 Fundació MACBA Prize. Comprising six established professionals in the field of contemporary art, the committee will be responsible for nominating artists for the second edition of the award.
Alongside Cirauqui, the committee includes, in alphabetical order by surname, Gilberto González, Deputy Artistic Director of the Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía (C3A) and the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC); Tania Pardo, Director of the Museo CA2M in Madrid; Agustín Pérez Rubio, independent curator; Bárbara Rodríguez, Director of Exhibitions and Collections at Centro Botín in Santander; and Claudia Segura, Head of Collections at MACBA.
The committee members will review the contemporary art scene across Spain to identify exhibitions held during 2025–2026 that have stood out for their innovation, the strength of their conceptual approach and the distinctiveness of their artistic language. Their nominations will subsequently be submitted to the jury, which will select the finalists and the award recipient.
Established by the Fundació MACBA, the biennial prize aims to raise the profile of artists whose work contributes to expanding the languages and perspectives of contemporary art.
