Laia Estruch wins the 4th Fundació Bosch Aymerich Sculpture Prize

Laia Estruch, an artist and lecturer on the Bachelor's Degree in Design programme, has been awarded the 4th Fundació Bosch Aymerich Sculpture Prize for her work Carrau. The award recognises an artistic career characterised by experimentation and the exploration of new forms of interaction between the body, voice, space and sculpture.

The award-winning work forms part of Estruch's artistic practice, which investigates the possibilities of sculpture beyond its traditional role as an object. Through her creations, the artist develops experiences in which the body and participation play a central role, inviting audiences to reconsider the relationship between the artwork, space and the people who inhabit it.

In this context, Carrau approaches sculpture through physical and sensory experience. Created in 2026, the work consists of three inflatable structures that transform the entrances to a gallery into a sculptural and performative experience. As the artist has explained, the project goes beyond the contemplation of an object, inviting visitors to observe, move through and understand it through direct bodily engagement.

The prize, worth €30,000, was awarded by a unanimous decision of the jury.
