The aim of my Final Degree Project is to redesign the space occupied by an institution of the Social Third Sector, whose mission is to care for children and teenagers at risk of social exclusion.
It is known as the institute for Association, Training and Development and is at Carrer Parlament, 49, in Barcelona’s Sant Antoni district, in premises measuring 150 m2 in a building dating from 1951.
By analysing and researching the needs of the professionals and children who coexist in this space, and thanks to a work process in which they took part, the project proposes redesigning the work space.
This new concept of space requires participation by the professionals and users of the centre, with whom I will be exploring their current needs through interviews and a workshop.
With their collaboration, I will be able to reach conclusions that will allow me to create a project that really does adapt to the uses of both groups.
Therefore, the proposal offers a space where the new zoning is designed primarily for users, and to improve the quality of the services and the links between them.
