The project represents an experimentation on the morphology of the letter, speculating with the feasibility of the drawing of pictograms on the basis of typefaces. During the course of the project, I look at the basic principles of semiotics and the projects related to the subject area, and I explore the constructive possibilities of the character. Sketching, modulation, structure and all the other intrinsic elements of drawing characters are worked on to generate a system.
The final result is a set of examples drawn from each typeface worked on, which are presented with an explanation, and a number of conclusions on experimentation that set out both the benefits and the limitations of the process.
