Like many countries in South America, Mexico is experiencing a severe economic and social crisis. This pushes a lot of people to find alternatives and many choose to cross the border between Mexico and the United States. The immigration laws of the United States government have led to thousands of people having to voluntarily or forcibly return to Mexico or their respective countries. The borders have a problem, as the lack of organisation and the violent situation in these cities do not provide any support to those who have been deported. This project proposes the creation of a dining hall and social care centre for people who have been deported. It proposes a social project in an industrial warehouse that is to become empty in Ciudad Juarez, as this border point is one of the busiest. These premises will offer two main services: there will be a kitchen serving two meals a day and a legal assistance and psychological care centre. One of the design challenges facing this project is to unite the spaces while solving the drawbacks of this space to ensure that the programme created for this centre is carried out successfully.
