The project develops the possibility of reopening the Teatre Principal as an alternative cinema to conventional multiscreens. The aim is to make classic and independent cinema attractive and up-to-date and make this leisure proposal competitive for general audiences. This is embodied in the corporate identity of the Cinema Dome.
It involves re-evaluating independent and classic cinema, making it accessible to more than just cinema-lovers and intellectuals by introducing it to the general public. The public at whom this cinema is aimed are not necessarily cinema-lovers, in other words, they are not necessarily specialists or the initiated.
In terms of identity, I had to link the historical baggage of the space and the collective imagination of classic cinema with the modernising spirit of the project. I also had to keep in mind the confluence of an entertainment and cultural nature. All this had to be formalised in an easily identifiable, powerful and attractive language. I had to merge the personality of the cinema's identity with the personality of each film. Although the main language is Catalan, I have not translated any titles or quotes and have at all times respected the original version.
