At last! The first human castles competition in Barcelona. The competition is the only event of the year where human castles are truly competitive, with each structure awarded points for its execution. The competition is clearly aimed at all human castle fans and its mission is to attract people for whom they remain a mystery.
The aim of the competition, its image and promotion is to open up the world of human castles – itself a tight-knit community – to everyone who is unfamiliar with it. This means applying graphics in a setting where the importance of design is not always noticeable. The whole project is based on an iconic simplification of human castles using the colours of the groups' shirts. Simplification begins with the name, so, the Barcelona Human Castles Competition is replaced with CIM (PEAK) to simplify the idea of a completed castle or the summit being reached. Finally, the posters use a sequence explaining how the castle is built and ignore colour where it is not important, but maintain the shirts which are in relief in the image.
