A new concept in health facilities for animals offering a service that helps look after pets, improves their health, facilitates recovery and helps reduce the number of abandoned animals. The centre focuses on training animals, rehabilitating those that have suffered mistreatment, teaching dogs how to help and teaching their owners how to relate to their pets while offering advice on how to do this.
The building that houses the centre is a former agricultural warehouse open on all four sides, with walls made from rustic stone and a gabled roof. It has a single storey covering an area of 525 m². The project proposes different internal cubes painted white and arranged on the east side of the floor to be used for the various activities. To the west, are a series of lined cubes with oak bars where the animals are kept. The passage provides access to the two areas, while at the same time separating them. Some of the cubes jut out at floor level with a glass closure to let in natural light. The main aim has been to ensure that the original building co-exists with its new activity and its new use.
