AMICS

AMICS explores the links that humans have with objects through Graham Harman's O.O.O. theory, Simon May's essay The Power of the Kooky and Winnicott's transitional object.

From these three theories I intend to extract a way of generating a singular object, which breaks with the traditional subject-object hierarchy when it comes to relating to it and establishing a bond with it. I also wanted to give the added value of this object to help the mental health of the human being it accompanies.

From here, we found that an object that is perfectly adapted to its characteristics is the toy, and the best users of toys are children. So, I continue my work through a process of codesing with the child psychologist Gemma Funes.

With her we created workshops that we carried out with 12 children, in which they faced their fears and anxieties through a cuddly toy that we created, and throughout the process, both the resulting toy and they transacted to better manage the discomfort through an object of comfort.
