Marina Cervera

Degree in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya UPC Barcelona Tech.

Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA, 2003) and Master's Degree in Urban Planning Research (MIUrb, 2014) from the same university.

Teaching 

She is an adjunct professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya UPC-Barcelona Tech, related to the School of Architecture (ETSAB) and the Department of Urban and Territorial Planning (DUOT), as well as the new degree in Landscape Architecture (ESAB + ETSAB).

She has given lectures, moderated sessions or participated as a juror in RMIT Europe, in Nanjing and Chengdu University in China, AHO in Norway, Versailles in France or POLIMI in Milan, Italy.

Professional experience

Her professional practice has been developed at Ateliers Jean Nouvel (Paris), the Centre for Landscape Research and Projects (CRPPB led by Rosa Barba, at the UPC) and, since 2003, in her own professional practice, based in Barcelona, in planning, landscape architecture and architecture.

Executive Director of the Landscape Architecture Office of the College of Architects of Catalonia and member of the Executive and Scientific Committee of the International Biennial of Landscape Architecture of Barcelona.

Awards

She has been awarded several times with grants, such as the Mies van der Rohe Foundation Scholarship (Venice, Italy; 2001), the Caja de Arquitectos Foundation (2002) and the Villa LeNôtre Internship for Professional Landscape Architects in Versailles (Paris, France, 2016) at the ENSPV Résidences Internationales pour paysagistes.

The latest recognition has been the designation as Luigi Einaudi Chair by the Institute of European Studies (IES) at Cornell University (Ithaca, USA, 2019).
