Sonia Pulido, professor of the EINA Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Illustration and Visual Communication Techniques, has been awarded with he National Illustration Prize 2020 for her "long career" and "enormous creative capacity", according to a tweet from the Minister of Culture, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes.
On hearing the news, Sonia commented to EINA: "I am very surprised and very excited, I didn't expect it, really. It is a prize that is given by colleagues in the profession, and the fact that they think I deserve this award makes me very happy, and encourages me to continue working with even more conviction. It is a very happy day, and I can only say thank you”.
Sonia Pulido is an illustrator and a graduate in Fine Arts. Her illustrations have been published, among many others, in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, AD France or El País. Her work has received awards from many institutions such as the Society of Illustrators (Institutional Gold Medal, Book winner, Editorial winner).
