In this fifth edition of games design projects, the Design of Identity Elements, Design Management and Audiovisual Resources Applied to Design courses worked together to develop innovative projects based on the Lego Mindstorm EV3 game, by LEGO Education Robotix. The briefing focused on designing a mission with the Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot, with the specific aim of adding skills related to human issues, since the habitual learning of LEGO Education Robotix practices focuses on technology and science subjects.

The project was developed over two months, had two weeks of intensification adapted to the students’ learning pace, and featured the collaboration of games design professionals such as Joan Morales, and packaging design professionals such as Mariano Lesser, and Köllen Design. Elena Bartomeu, specialist in fiction design, led the initiative, with the collaboration of Dolors Soriano, expert in team-building and project management, and Claudio Molina, specialist in audiovisual communication. The design of the mission was a cross-disciplinary experience in which teams of students worked on the basis of the Biohacking, Internet of Things in the Home and Metagames subjects. They developed everything from the game terrain, through the playability experience of the groups involved, the visual identity of the game and the public engagement strategy, to the packaging.
