Eina i el restaurant Disfrutar exploren el dibuix com a eina de creació gastronòmica

Eina and the restaurant Disfrutar explore drawing as a tool for gastronomic creation

First-year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Design at Eina Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative universe of the renowned restaurant Disfrutar, through a project that brings together gastronomy, design and visual thinking. The collaboration was developed within the course Drawing Strategies and used drawing and illustration as tools for analysis, research and creative reinterpretation.

The project was based on a selection of six emblematic dishes from Disfrutar’s gastronomic universe, proposed by chef Oriol Castro and by Anna Vilageliu, Head of Design at the restaurant and an Eina alumna. Through the breakdown and classification of the elements that make up each dish, students generated new visual and conceptual readings, regrouping ingredients, textures and ideas into illustrated panels.

The outcome was a graphic reinterpretation that goes beyond representation: each proposal puts forward a new plating concept or an alternative gastronomic experience, demonstrating how drawing can become a key tool for thinking, designing and innovating across other creative disciplines.

As a culmination of the project, the most outstanding proposals were invited to visit Disfrutar’s kitchens and creative spaces, where students presented their work and engaged in direct dialogue with the restaurant team about processes, methodologies and ways of understanding creativity. A unique experience that strengthens the link between education, professional practice and creative excellence.

Participating students: Amaia Adriaza, Carla Barrionuevo, Guillem de Molina, Jay Franch, Helena Giménez, Maria Gonzálvez, Paula Moreno, Amanda Navarro, Paula Sánchez, Oriol Vila.

Project tutors: Mar Saiz and Felipe de San Pedro.
