“Design thinking as a useful initial step to effectuation” by Georgina Curto

Georgina Curto, lecturer in Strategy and Management on the Bachelor’s Degree in Design, on the Master's Degree in Graphic Design and on the Master's Degree in Product Design and Publication, will be speaking on everything that design thinking can contribute to the new theories on entrepreneurship, such as effectuation.

The aim of design thinking is to provide a methodology for developing new user-centred ideas, while effectuation formalises a theory that describes the process of entrepreneurial action when there are limited resources and market uncertainty.

The lecture describes the key points of both spheres and analyses the comparative studies published to date, creating a conceptual framework of similarities and differences. As Curto states, “both concepts are compatible and complementary and are essential both in the field of design and in that of business management.”
