Cultures d'Avenir: Research Master in Art and Design (MURAD) + CCCB + Museu Pompidou + HKW

EINA's Research Master in Art and Design (MURAD) and UAB will participate next year in the Cultures d'Avenir project, led by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), the Pompidou Museum in Paris and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin.

The project will bring together students from 12 University Master's degrees in Barcelona, Paris and Berlin to develop a joint project on themes related to environmental concerns, overcoming discrimination, knowledge sharing, audience inclusion and gender parity.

Bani Brusadin, Vincent Edin and Leila Haghighat will be the international experts who will follow the projects as mentors, while other relevant thinkers will give specific sessions on the proposed themes. Two students from each Master's programme will come together for a joint workshop in Paris hosted by the Pompidou Museum, an online workshop with the HKW in Berlin and, finally, the presentation of the projects in Barcelona at the CCCB.

The Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ), the driving force behind this collaboration, aims to:

  • Identify and approach the future talents that will soon make up the young European artistic and creative scene.
  • Strengthen the dialogue with schools and young artists and committed designers from various countries.
  • To contribute to giving young artists and designers the tools to face the difficult context of professional integration that awaits them, in close complementarity with the apprenticeships they follow at their university.
  • To develop and bring together international networks of experts and project leaders on social issues.

This participation is part of the strategic line of the Master's Degree in Art and Design Research to promote the contact of its students with international projects, cultural institutions and competitive research projects. In this sense, the next academic year will see close collaboration with exhibition and cultural spaces in Barcelona: the Santa Mònica Art Centre, the Picasso Museum and the Barcelona Design Museum. Likewise, the dialogue sessions will continue with the competitive projects: Open Up (Europe creative), GRETA (SGR), Artistic research and aesthetic thought. A meeting point between philosophy, art and design (MICU), Mobility Overflow: A Comparative Study of New Urban Mobilities (MICINN), Restaura (MICINN).
