The Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Illustration and Visual Communication Techniques develops real projects with different platforms. One of these areas is the world of publications. From the subject of illustration projects for the press taught by Sonia Pulido, various initiatives have been carried out with La Maleta de Portbou and the Bellaterra Journal of Teaching and Learning.
The May-June 2023 issue of the journal La Maleta de Portbou contains the winning illustrations from the competition held annually for this publication. The finalists were Karol Aramayo and Francisca Jara. The first prize was shared by Irazo Erauskin and Bárbara Marcantonio.
The jury wanted to highlight the high technical and creative level of the illustrations presented, centred on the concept of the suitcase as a symbol of exile, of migration, of stories that move from one place to another, of illusions that travel. These small illustrations visually close a selection of articles from the magazine.
On the other hand, the students have also had the opportunity to participate in the covers of the Bellaterra Journal of Teaching and Learning, a digital academic journal of the Department of Language, Literature and Social Sciences Didactics of the UAB.
Julia Bosch, Shirlei Martins Ortega San Roman, Irene Polinelli and Pil Tesdorpf have been the students selected to make the covers of the journal for a year.
