Workshop Transforming outdoor spaces with a folly with Narcís Font

Can you imagine transforming an everyday space into something surprising, poetic or mysterious? This workshop invites you to explore the power of follies: small structures or interventions that, since the 18th century, have filled parks and gardens with magic, humour and provocation.

Led by architect Narcís Font, you will discover how these ephemeral pieces can alter the perception of the landscape and generate new experiences for those who inhabit it. After an introduction to historical and contemporary examples, you will take action: each participant will choose a corner of the park opposite the Eina Sentmenat headquarters to design their own folly, in a collaborative exercise of experimentation and creativity.

The workshop is linked to the Specialisation Diploma in Garden Art and Design, a programme that proposes understanding the garden as a territory of creation, thought and transformation.

What will you find?

  • A visual and conceptual immersion in follies as a form of artistic and architectural expression.
  • A practical and participatory workshop, where you will imagine, represent and share ideas with other creators.
  • A space for reflection on landscape, play and ephemeral intervention.

Aimed at

Students and professionals in design, art, architecture, landscaping and anyone interested in rethinking outdoor spaces from a creative and emotional perspective. No previous experience is necessary, just curiosity and a desire to experiment.

The garden as a laboratory for creation and thought

The Specialisation Diploma in Garden Art and Design aims to understand the garden beyond botany: as a space for artistic, cultural and sensory experimentation. Through an interdisciplinary methodology, the programme combines design, art and landscape to explore new ways of relating nature and creativity. A training programme that promotes projects with identity, ecological awareness and aesthetic value, designed to transform the environment and the perspective of those who inhabit it.
