STANDARD DESIGN

STANDARD DESIGN, disseny estàndard

This sticker album aims to understand, from a design perspective, the apparent ambiguity of the adjective “standard”, questioning its social and heritage values, under the conviction that to a greater or lesser extent, all design is usually based on and restricted by standards, that is, social conventions. Standards become essential for human coexistence, but they are often conditioned by positions of privilege. This leads to designs that harm oppressed groups. This research highlights and generates designs that help to coexist with standards, while asking how to think about and preserve these conventions from critical, anti-fascist and anti-anthropocentric positions.
