Carlos Pamplona - Piñata

Piñata

Piñata is an illustrated children's story designed for iPads. It has no texts and the reader discovers the storytelling by interacting with the app. To achieve this, the main aim of this final degree project was to transfer the children's story Piñata to the digital and interactive environment. The story is about a coloured hairy monster called Piñata who a little boy draws on his bedroom wall one day. What the child doesn't know is that shortly after he has drawn the monster, it comes to life and becomes his new room-mate. Just like the boy in the story, we learn a little more about Piñata in each chapter: what he eats, what he does at night and how he gets around the bedroom. I use this project to research my creative process in which memory reveals and analyses the reflections and decisions taken during the work process.
