The project proposes a standardisation of nutritional labelling to aid and speed up reading of them. This would solve the present variety of brands available at supermarkets that impregnate the nutritional information with their graphics and randomly lay out blocks of information that should appear in the same visual field.
The documentary basis of the project has been Flabel, a study into the behaviour of consumers when they look at the nutritional information. The proposed labelling has been developed using the data from Flabel.
To achieve standardisation, I have sought to structure and homogenise graphically to make the information always the same, with the same typographic criteria of composition and use of colour. I have looked for simplicity and clarity so that the information is easily identifiable. The labelling designed offers the option of just having general information, which can be viewed from the supermarket shelf, or more in-depth information using circular graphics that relate the recommended daily amount and the nutrient of the product.
The result obtained is compiled in a manual that details format and layout variables, typographic profiles and mandatory information.
