+Women's Militia. Clothing and Citizenship, 1823* studies the parts of the clothing that made up the uniform of the women's militia that was created in Barcelona in 1823. It is a creation framed by the restoration of the Cadiz Constitution of 1812 and a new attempt at liberal revolution carried out from the female perspective of demanding their equality and their citizenship rights through the exercise of military responsibilities. The clothing is contextualised amid contemporary items of civilian use and the possible precedents or references of male military usage.
