The project constitutes the renovation of the spaces in the historic Molins de Rei Workers’ Federation building to create a public and county music production centre, with rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, concert halls and the necessary logistics spaces: reception, administration, storerooms, etc.
A differentiation is made between the day-time use of the ground floor and the night-time use of the stalls and amphitheatre, which contain the concert hall with the dressing room, bar counter, wardrobe, etc. The original spaces on the ground floor are rearranged with minimal demolition. The corridor helps mark out the different areas of use: administration, rehearsal rooms and recording studio. The entrance hall and foyer favour entry by users and their interrelation.
The composition of the administration area creates openings that favour the entry of natural light. Openings created along all the dividing walls in the administration area help the visual communication between spaces and provide a continuous vision of the whole ground floor, from the hall to the foyer.
